Chamillionaire - Hiphop/Evening News
The music video shows a very broad amount of political satire. Chamillionaire plays three different characters, He plays a dirty officer, plays himself and he plays the anchor news presenter.
The video gives you a layout of breaking news occuring, making the viewer almost believe these things are taking place in the world or just to just to grab there attention.Lyrics have alot to play in this video because there are so much to take in. You really have to watch the video a couple of times to catch the bits you've missed; just like a film in this sense. These references are either displayed in the video to give you that notion that its there, and also there are people he includes like Snoop Dogg, Jay z, Kanye West, Osama Bin Laden, George Bush and others.
On the desk there are particular references to different things such as the N.W.A baseball cap which is referencing a "gangster culture" for African americans.
The main story is outlining black culture and how stereotyping is being put forward in a big way, just like the starting scene where he gets arrested for nothing.
Chamillionaire is maybe pointing out that black people are being targeted some how?
Putting the video of George Bush Golfing, as he swings the ball goes straight into the hole and it has been digitally edited with oil pouring out. Basically saying that this is the main reason for war, in his own opinion.
Weather report with signs of pollution like for example Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Fires and Tsunami's. They already showed a small clip of hurricane katrina and the damage that it caused to new orleans. Showed polar ice caps falling off as due to global warming and the effect of how fast there falling.
Shows a brief clip of an american tank in Iraq, showing lots of well known logos with a twist. These logos were shown as "Mopil" instead of "Mobil" the American engine company,
"Exx off" which should be "Exx on"
"Pfizee" should be "Pfizer" which is a Pharmaceutical company making effective drugs and also a upside down logo of "Mc Donalds".
"Prices of gas are too high" which this gives a more down to earth statement, which everyone who drives would care about how much it goes up tax wise. On the sign where it should state the pence per litre, it has been edited with text slang words like "LOL , WTF" and "OMG".
The FCC is the American Federal Communications Commission and deal with what is allowed in there society, Things relating to sex, crime, violence, bad language ; they have the powers to review it and discard it if it doesn't meet the standards. This advert in the video shows a scam ringtone give away where you would call in and receive a ringtone in the style. Just to give a reference back to them that he maybe doesn't like them discussing about how rap music should be banned.
Shows a Doberman dog with edited smoke effects to represent Snoop Dogg, with lyrics to back up on him smoking weed.
"The white house is going to stay white, cuz we all know that obama's black" him discussing his views on how maybe its a white world or that he would like the place to have a change?
As its a news report style the video is directed on to the viewer to get there immediate attention. Its a great song and video that has been very much addressed and there is a lot that goes on. With currebt trends and stuff that gets published through the media.
